my car is loud!

when I drive by at WOT, everyone turns their head! The AEM really made the car loud, almost annoying. I guess better performance comes with more noise. At WOT, the dashboard shakes. I even feel the steering wheel and gas pedal shake. Is that normal?
Since my car is an auto, I have the intake for the 1.8L Protege. I am glad I only paid $110 because the fit was terrible, maybe because it was actually designed for the 1.8L Protege? The whole intake consists of 2 small pieces of pipe with the air flow sensor in between and the filter.

I also have an automatic 2.0L and I needed the AEM for the 1.8L. I must say that the fitment of the intake sucks! I really didn't like the idea of a short ram intake, but at the time that I got it, it was the only thing available. I am happy with the sound, but performance wise, I'm not sure if there is any increase! But I can offer you one suggestion, put a Magnaflow muffler on your car it it will sound friggin amazing (nice and deep)...now I just can't wait for the HP Racing header to get in!

i think the intake sound is cool. but then i never heard an AEM but i can understand that it is kind of loud. i got a custom shorty and it's fairly loud. only at WOT of course. problem with shaking? not really. maybe try putting your stock box back on when you got time to see how much difference you notice from the vibrations?

If your gas or brake pedal is vibrating, you better check your fitment my friend. The small elbow pipe out of the throttle body could be rubbing against the brake master cylinder which is causing the vibration at the brake pedal. People have nearly rubbed a hole into their intake from this ... So do it soon!

I checked and I think my intake rubs against also. I do not know how to get it out of the way becase the fit is terrible already. I do not have any room to play with!

Yes, it's loud, but I found that with my CAI, it was just a louder high-pitched "buzzing" than anything else. Get an exhaust, and make it sound like a real car, not a Honda.
