Exclamation Speed3 TOO LOUD. Please help.

So my wife's 2008 speed3 was loud when we bought it. Throaty droning exhaust.
In the last year and a half I think it's gotten even louder, but it's pretty intolerable.

I bought a 2008.5 speed3 and it's loud too, but it seems since hers is 6 months older, hers is louder.

I need to quiet it down for her or she wants to sell the car.
So basically I need to know what parts I need to swap out on the exhaust to mahe it as quiet as possible. I've been told that the downpipe is the piece that has the resonator and that's the biggest problem, not the muffler itself.
Anyone have any info on this?

I'm also going to dynamat everything.

Thanks a bunch guys.

Well I think I found my answer. I found this post:

and replacing the second resonator with a magnaflow one fixes the drone completely, while still sounding fine and not restricting airflow.

I've ordered my resonator for $58 shipped. I also ordered 40 sq feet of Damplifier.

I'll let you guys know how my stealth project goes after I install everything.

Sound deadening mat installed. It definitely helped. Road noise from the rear wheelwells really got quiet.

The exhaust drone is a little better too. I'm going to have my shop install the resonator tomorrow and post some pics.

Ok, got my resonator swapped out to the magnaflow one.

I took some sound measurements with a DB meter. I'd accelerate, then leave it in gear and coast down to decelerate. Th loudest RPM range is around 2,500 RPM it was hitting 90DB.
After sound deadening matereal it was peaking at 85 DB
After the resonator was installed it still peaked at 2,500 RPM around 80DB but it was actually milder all around.

Just driving wih the wheel noise on the highway is around 70 to 75DB to give you an idea.
