Have you actually heard the greddy system compared to others?
I had asked somebody a while back about the sound and he said
it was louder than he had thought it would be and recommended
the racing beat would be quieter.

i went with the Apexi N1 universal NA muffler with a custom catback 2.25" pipe. its non mandrel bent though

so if you want to go with a custom catback and a universal muffler go with 2.5" non mandrel or 2.25 mandrel

yes i have. rck dctr (Bart) brought his P5 with the greddy system to the meet in Columbus a couple weeks ago. there were a couple racing beat systems, the greddy, and a bosal. out of the three the bosal was the loudest without the silencer, then the greddy and the racing beat were close, but the greddy was quieter. I didnt actually drive these, this was just a spin around the lot sound check, so i dont know about any droning or anything, but they all sounded damn good to me (this was over my stock exhaust)

Tip sizes

That Greddy exhaust has a huge tip. Anyone have close up shots of the tip? So far the HKS has looked the best to me, but i've read the HKS is fairly loud. Anyone know the exact sizes of the tips between the Greddy and the racingbeat?

If there is some interest i'll try to hook something up, but its not that expensive to start with, only 329, but I want under $300
So, is anyone interested in a group buy? Currently, I'm leaning toward the racing beat cat back. But, if the price is right......

I have a new (2003) P5. I just installed a Thermal Research & Development "Classic" catback exhaust system. The fit was less than perfect. I ended up having to tweak the hangers to get the muffler tip aligned with the radius in the back bumper. The performance gains. if any, were slight. The tone is pleasant - not too loud. Sounds alot like the stock exhaust on my old 63' MGB.
Hope this helps.

that exhaust from http://www.teammoonexhaust.com/ sounds HOT! Wish they made it for the Sedans.

It is hot. I have it for my P5, and I like it a lot. And the guy I bought tires from this week gave me props for it, too.

If you want Team Moon to bust out a sedan version, I'll bet they'll do it. There's way more Protege sedans than P5's out there, and the exhaust should be pretty similar -- just a little longer. Email Charlie; he's a good guy.

I just emailed him too. As a matter a fact I got an Idea. Lets flood his mail box asking him to design one for the Sedans. Then he will have no choice but to build one if everyone keeps requestion one.

OK they finally got my Greddy catback in. I went and checked it out and it looks great. Hopefully I will be picking it up tomorrow(friday) and installing it with many pictures. I'll keep you all posted.
