I don't know exactly how the weights of the BP and FS compare, but I CAN tell you that a BP is VERY heavy for a modern 1.8L 4-cylinder, for the same reason that it's so strong- it uses an old school, closed-deck, fully reinforced cast iron cylinder block. Closed-deck + fully reinforced = no flexy cylinder sleeves.

i've seen BPs hold 300 to 400 at the wheels in stock form.

The closer to 400 the lower the life expectency i have seen. The rods seem to be what goes. The do last quite a while though
