Lots of questions...
Ok...I have a 2002 ES Protégé...here we go...
1. What is the word on sending you ECU to AEM to get reprogrammed?
2. What do I need to look for in an exhaust?
3. What's your opinion of the Ractive intake? Cold air or short ram?
4. Other than intake and exhaust, what is the best/ cheapest way to get more HP?
Thanks for the help.

Here's are some answers:
1. I'm not too sure.
2. There are a lot of things to look for in exhaust. There are axle-back exhausts and cat-back exhausts, cat-backs usually provide more gain but are also more expensive. Some people prefer a quieter system, some prefer louder ones. Racing Beat is the quietest one, but it still sounds FRIGGIN SEXY. I have no experience with the sound of other exhaust systems. You can usually find dyno sheets to see how much power people have gained from their systems. Another thing to consider is build quality. Some exhaust systems rust or rattle or things like that. Just make sure you use the search engine and see what people have to say about each one.
3. I don't know about the Ractive intake specifically, but many people on these forums (myself included) use the generic ebay SRI/CAIs, which can be had for anywhere between $30 to $70. This intake provides pretty much the same gain as any other intake i know of and is way cheaper.
4. Do a search for Header/Headers. There are a few different options now, and they seem to be a good way to get some power. Turbo is the ultimate HP solution, but its pretty expensive. Roddimus Prime is making a supercharger kit which is lookin pretty sweet too. Just do a search on all these things and you can find a grip of info.
