looking for enthusiasts opinions

Hi, yah im new to this site but I was looking for some general opinions from people who know alot about increasing the performance of a 2002 LX mazda protege. I recently bought one its only still got about 6100 miles on it but im wondering what you guys would generally suggest looking into such as air intakes, exhaust systems, and general performance increases what would be the best in your opinion. Thanks a bunch and please as much input as possible would be greatly appreciated. Cya.

Well, since you haven't set any $$$ limits, there's nothing like turbo

Spool-turbo.com
Flyinmiata.com (flyinprotege.com)
hiboost.com
Perfworks (IMO, is the best kit out for more power)

If turbo is outside of your budget or you want to stick to NA, the concensus seems to be start with intake, header, and exhaust. That put me back about $1600 CAD.

Do a couple of searches in these areas and you'll get a lot of good information to start you off.

Intake: either Injen CAI or AEM Short Ram

Exhaust: I would go custom, which I did, and any muffler of your liking.

Header: AWR

Also, a nice set of cams are good.

Racing Mazda Header Group Buy

This is the best deal I've seen so far.

id probably get a exhaust and intake along with some eibach springs and a nice set of wheels. maybe a rear swaybar but not AWR cause it rusts like crap.
