Owner of the shop I go to for my car says he has tryed both the K&N and the Injen, and prefers the response from the injen.

I'm going to try it out, and let you know how it feels.

The car seems to have a nice kick when it downshifts and revs up over 4000rpm. Not much increase in the low power band. Sounds real nice, makes the engine seem much more aggresive.

That's exactly where most gains should be. Most N/A bolt-ons will add power mainly to the upper RPM range.

Besides a turbo, whats the best lower RPM booster? I was thinking to do headers, exhaust or underdrive pulley, but can't afford them all at once.

Haha, yeh I guess so. Too bad the Protege's launch speed from a stop is so slow.

Rev it up to 2500-3000 RPM and drop the clutch. That'll help.

My poor auto tranny

Really wish I knew more about cars when I bought mine. At the time I didn't know how to drive stick and was afraid of breaking my new car, so now I'm stuck with an automatic, haha.

You could always sell yours and get a manual trans. car. Just transfer any mods you have onto it. Driving stick is easy, btw.

Oh I know, I just don't want to take a loss just to trade trannys. You always lose money trading your car for another one.

Haha, nice. No, if I do decide to sell my car, I'll just make the jump to the MSP. For now I'm fine with my little automatic.
