K&N Drop in air filter

I installed a K&N drop in air filter (Merry Christmas to me) yesterday and I like it. I seem to have better throttle and a little quicker acceleration. Sounds better too.

Also installed a set of Weatherflector window thingy's that let you keep your windows partially open for ventilation. I know this may not meet with the "cool" mods approval, but I got them for practical purposes. It get's very hot inside the car in Florida (about 9 months out of the year), so these should help keep the car a little cooler by cutting down on heat build-up.

Does anybody else have these? They are not the 2 sided tape installed type. They install inside the window channel. My problem is that the front passenger window whistles at speeds above 50mph. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem.

did it whistle BEFORE the install? I am guessing that with your new wind deflectors that you don't have a good seal between your windown and the channel anymore....and thus your wind noise...

also....if you want to run with your windows down and cut WAY down on the buffeting that you normally have with the front windows down.....OPEN the rear windows....it nearly goes away when you do that.

No it didn't whistle before, so it must not be sealing well now. That window has always seemed to go up a little slower than the drivers side and with less force. The drivers side closes with a thunk. I may try re-installing the passenger side and see if it seals any better before going through the return process.

I don't want to run with the windows down (unless it's at low speeds around town when the weather's cool enough). I want to be able to leave the windows cracked open when it's hot outside and not have to worry about rain getting in.

I re-installed the WeatherFlector vent visor and the whistling is gone now.

I purchased ones for the rear windows only, it does the job and no noise. I just don't like the look on the front windows-seems to "truckish". I assume you do not have a sunroof. If you do get the deflector for it and keep the roof cracked open this really gets rid of the heat.
