Is it just me or does the p5's clutch suck?
When my p5 had about 8,000 miles, the clutch felt really hesitant to engage and sloppy, so i took it to the dealership. They told me that the friction plate and the throwout bearing basically fell apart, so they replaced everything under warrantee. I'm at about 30,000 miles now and my clutch is starting to feel slutty again, meaning it doesn't engage as quick as my other car's clutches engage, and if i release it ever so slightly unsmooth, it lets me know by jiggling the whole car.
Some other questions for aftermarket clutches:
-If i were to get a clutch that could hold more power, would i be able to slip it and launch it all day without punishing it?
-Do they usually last longer under similar conditions to the stock clutch??
Thanks!

stock ANYTHING = crap
I have always used centerforce clutches but people here seem to use ACT clutches. I can get Spec clutches for bout $350 for a stage 2 and that holds 400+hp and retains stock pedal feel.

If i got a clutch that could hold 400+ hp like that one you mentioned, does that mean i could launch really hard (which would be like 100 hp max ) and not even phase the clutch? How long do the centerforces thatyou get usually last?

yeah...I have used centerforce clutches in a lot of my drag race cars and NEVER had one go out. I had a taurus SHO with a 100hp shot of nitrous that I would hit off the line with drag radials and the clutch wouldn't slip. I ran a 13.2s in that car....witout the DR's....13.9s!!
The clutch will last longer than your motor or axles will! I would say 60K miles or so....a lot longer if you dont ever throw more power than that on it.
