I got hit by one backing off before too...
Fortunately it's my now traded-in Civic
Hopefully it won't happen again to my P5

I hate old people drivers just as much as I hate the drivers in Massachusetts. It just seems that they feel like driving during the busiest hours of the day. They just feel like it, driving for no reason. And I especialy hate their big *** cars! Why do they need them? They only use them when they have to go to vote, or a family occasion. They never utilize the engine's full capability, and do not go beyond 25 mph anyways. They should have a four-banger for the engine, and not the V-8. Come on, help save the environment! I am not even mentioning that most of them can't see over the steering wheel, or just see in general. I know that sounds mean, but if you have impaired vision, wearing welder's gogles will not help. Another reason why I do not like them, is because they have insurance!!! They can do exactly what happened to you, and get away with that. Then they give a call to their insurance agent, and he fixes their car for them. For us, young drivers, it would raise our premiums to hell and beyond. Why can't they all chip in, and buy a school bus of some sort, and take turns driving it, and car pool at the same time. At least we would know that it is Old People Bus, and driving the hell past it. Whenever I drive, I try to stay in front of all Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Cadillacs, and alike. They are the reason there is more traffic on the road, and not just the fact that there are not enough new roads for all the new cars. Well, actually, that is not true. I think that the major reason why there is SO much traffic, IS because there are not enough new roads to fit all the new cars. There are too many cars out there (in certain areas - like Massachusetts), and too many old people drivers that don't help the traffic situatio at all. Now I would like to apolgize for all the people that either got affended by me, or just read the whole thing. I am sorry.

How did you know it was an old person? You can always report it to your insurance company. You should be covered under your comprehensive coverage and shoudn't have to pay any deductables.

Witnesses..my insurance is going to file it under uninsured/underinsured...but I have to pay the deductable. I do have his license plate number though. So maybe the insurance will find him and make him pay.

I think it is funny when people bitch about old drivers, even though when they hit 60 they will be saying "it is my god given right to drive this auto, I have been paying taxes all my life, blah blah blah". I know I will be saying that when I get up in years. I personally don't like young punk drivers, they think the road was practically built built for them. Old people get fender benders, young guys wrap cars around poles cuz they such mad drivas.

I agree with you 100 %....but there is a difference, YOU SHOULDN'T BE A PIECE OF **** AND DRIVE OFF KNOWING YOU HIT SOMEONE. And what does young punk drivers have to do with this anyway?

If old people drove buses...god help us all...currently it is bad enough that some of them drive the local city buses. Been on one where the driver clipped 10 cars that were parked on the side of the road. Just say that there was a strewn body of side mirrors in its wake.....ouch....

You don't know what its like to drive with old people on the road until you have lived in flordia. retirement capital of the world.

My father in law got hit by some senior in her cady crossing 8 lanes of traffic. All she could say was" I figured if I gunned it I would be alright" What the hell is that.
