intake and exhaust

can anyone recommend an intake and exhaust that they are extremely happy with?

I've read that some folks think teir mazdaspeed exhaust is TOO loud inside. (is the same exhaust called the 'mazda sport exhaust' on mazdastuff.com and mazdaformance.com?)

I've also read that some people are having spark plug and knocking problems after they've installed an intake and exhaust.

Thanks.

yes, yes, I've searched searched, but mostly found arguments about the weather in texas, and good reasons not to buy a mazdaspeed exhaust. Thanks for the replies.

hehe, a search link. that's new.

but i think he wanted something along the lines where someone is happy with both exhaust and intake. i see where he's coming from as he probably wouldn't wanna buy a good cai and crappy exhaust (or vice-versa). i'd answer and give my input, but all my $$$ was used for multimedia and sounds.

well i WILL tell you, I have the Injen CAI and the Bosal Exhaust....and I am very happy with both.

As far as the exhaust being too loud inside the car...I think the BEST thing you can do there is find another Protege owner that has the exhaust system on it that you are looking for and take a drive...and get up on the freeway and drive for a while at the speeds that YOU drive.

the thing is....what is TOO loud is very subjective...what I think is fine....YOU may think is too loud.

Talking

Dude I have the Mazdaspeed exhaust and I love it. I was really nervous about buying it because of the "exhaust sound deadning" comments but I think it is "off the hook", personally it doesent seem to loud to me at all. I mean sure when you punch the gas you are gonna get a "HUMMMMM" but every performance exhaust ive heard does the same thing. And if your on the interstate doing 70-80mph all you have to do is put it on cruise and you cant really hear it at all. I always have the readio going anyway so i forget i have it half the time. I think its a nice exhaust and from all the complements everyone else seems to think so too. If you got a ? about it just let me know...thats just my thoughts..Peace...

Is it the same one known as the mazdasport exhaust? Where did you get that? mazdastuff.com?

thanks and praise to messenjah, onehawaiian and Sir Nuke for supporting the true idea of message boards.

Exclamation

Yes this is the same as the "mazda sport exhaust" just like in the accesories cataloge. I ordered my exhaust from the dealership, it cost about $230. But you can order the same one from www.mazdastuff.com for $195. It took about 5 days for the dealership to get it in...

Sir Nuke, which line of bosal-the prospeed??? Also what distributor sells them? I know the bosal plant is only an hour away from atlanta (just close enough to NOPI) so they should be at NOPI in Sept. Im finally gonna have money next year (student loan and job) so i can put in the CAI/exhaust finally.
