I got mine free with the car, chrome pipe, filter, etc, and they installed it so cant say if the price is good or not. I got a GTR package from Kramer here in Calgary so the intake was part of the package.

I was lucky though (in a way) that I had the car with the factory intake for a week before the part came in, so I got a chance to feel the difference. I quite like it. Not sure if your getting any more HP. (MAYBE 2-5) but throttle response seems much improved and sounds great. No Problem in cold weather either. The Miata guys swear buy this intake and had great luck with it. Auto-Zeal is the distributor for these in Canada, but you could try to bring one up from the US.

Well, the Injen is $235 US on www.protege5online.com, plus a little bit extra for the water bypass valve and the heat/splash sheild (and think Mitch's price is pretty good), so would say $225 CDN for a cold air intake is pretty darn reasonable compared to buying one form a US vendor (plus shipping, duty, etc.).

BTW, which intake do they have? Is it the MonsterFlow one?

Dale.

Yes the monsterflow one. Quite well done with all the proper hangers and such in the right place. Love mine.
