intake

I have a 1.6L and i bought the ebay intake for the 1.8l. I drilled a larger hole for the maf, but the car starts and dies. the car can handle the 3" piping and airflow. I seen many people cut the maf holder off their stock airbox to adapat for the maf. I dont want to do that, any suggestions. thanks

the trick with a MAF sensor is to have the sensor port in the dead center of the tube, this way it will avoid the turbulent flow along the edges of the tube...look at the MAF and see where the (film/wire) will read the flow...then mock it up to make sure it is in the right location of the tube diameter.....

understand?

We need to just get together and talk cars one day
You won't need anything with the 2.0l engine. Our MAF just pulls out of the stock airbox, and can be coupled into an intake system very easily. I've put mine in and taken it out numerous times. Heck I may even have an Injen to sell you in a month or so

put the same intake on my 1.6L....heres the best way to make it work....plug the maf opening in the tube with a vacuum plug(can be bought at any auto parts store), then using a dremel cutting tool cut the MAF tube out of the stock airbox then incorporate that tube into the CAI I did this and had no probs or CAI's AT ALL...i guess I need to post up some pics of my intake to explain better...it looks very clean too

Mmm I don't know yet. I'll have to see what condition the filter is in when i pull it off, how well the pipes have held up, etc... It was in very good shape last time i checked. I will be going FI in the spring so i'll have no need for the CAI, and its not short ram, its full CAI. Hit me up if you want to just come see it.
