I was working with one of the guys from K&N who is running one of the divisions in charge of developing CAIs and SRAIs and we were talking about those Bypass Valve things. He was telling me that in order for the engine to suck in water through the filter, the filter has to be pretty much fully submerged and you have to be giving it quite a bit of gas....So pretty much he told me that those bypass valves are bullcrap, and he's done the research, so i trust his word.

have you ever looked up in there where the filter is?? i dont know about u but mine is pretty damn clean , which would lead me to believe that not much goes up in there. i dont have an intake yet but i wouldnt worry if i did,,, just my 2 cents

The other day there was a terrible rainstorm and the roads flooded, in some areas I was barely moving, definitely less than 10mph. The car seemed slightly more sluggish, but maybe it was the loss of traction on the wet surface in general. I pulled over near home and looked under the hood. The Injen piping was all covered with water and condensation, heated up by the engine. I stuck my hand down and the filter was soaking wet. I have gotten significantly worse gas mileage on this tank, but I'm not sure if it is due to this incident. Car seems back to normal now, maybe it just sucked up some moisture.
