good way to make friends.....

p.s. your particular problem has nothing to do with the 2.0L Ebay CAI which this thread is talking about.

So like i said IMO the MAF is to far away from the cone for the design of our MAF. READ BEFORE YOU REPLY AND WASTE SPACE!

maybe your 1.6 only likes seeing warm air.

the reason i got the injen cai is a didn't really know anything about this stuff. there was no way i was going to buy an ebay intake without knowing i was getting the right thing. so, sure i spent too much money on it, but i also knew when i insalled it i got the right one. it was my first mod and i had fun doing it. looking at it that way i think it was money well spent. now i have the confidence to do more and maybe harder mods.
bottom line, i had fun and learned alot about my car. i think thats pretty important. not how much i spent.

good point bcubed. it's kinda like the header deal. i got my header for $125 shipped. got it modded to fit my car for free since i lent a hand. i came in 2whp less on the dyno than a guy with a manual modded with an injen intake, obx 4-1 header, and catback. and i'm an auto. it's not how much you spend, it's how much fun you have spending it!

yeah, I've spent more before and not regretted it. I just try to use my foresight to help people save some cash where they can and get some other good mods. For the price of an Injen you could get an Ebay CAI, kartboy bushings, hangers, and front motor mount..... I guess I'm just real cheap.

No, I say your just smart, a smart shopper. Like you mentioned earlier, function over form is what I'll pick, if it gets the job done with no problems, but maybe not be name brand or look as nice, I'll pick the cheaper uglier thing everytime! Women seem to have a harder time understanding this but yeah, you can get the same product plus all those others for the same as the original product with a fancy name on it!

your suggestions/know how are the reasons i joined this forum. i was hoping there were people who would be willing to share their info with me and others.
so, the mods you listed would help my car in what ways? remember, i've never even changed the oil in my car. thats why i'm asking!
