Hyper Ground System from Sun Auto?

I just got the December issue of Import Tuner and they have an article on Hyperground Wires. Anyone experienced with this stuff? It's claims that it's a series of ground cables that is safe and reliable upgrade that provides lower resistance in the ground path = helping the engine produce more power, better mileage, better response and improved starting ability. The web sight is www.sunautomobile.com or 714-708-7733. The cost starts at only $98.50 for most S size (fits most 4 cylinder cars). Just wanted to know if anyone experimented with this stuff. The article makes me want to get one set right now!! The report showed that the 2002 Suzuki Aerio got an average increase of 1.48 hp from 2500 - 6500 rpm, with the most increase at 5500 rpm at 3.9 hp!!! What do you guys think??

For those interested, there is a lengthy discussion of these on "the other" forum:

I'll probably be getting a set for myself in the near future, According to Import Tuner, it didn't hurt performance in any of the cars, and they all showed an increase.

How hard is the installation? Should it come with an "ideal location for installation" directions? I like to make mods to my car one at a time. But can't seem to find any store in LA area that actually "cares" about their customers. Many of them give you a bad look when you tell them that you are just browsing.... anyways... anyone installed them on their car?

Once I got to the meat of the idea, I have to laugh a bit. The issue is an old audio related one, how to get electrons to flow better. Current "moves" along on the surface of a wire positive or ground, so the surface area is the limiting factor. For years in audio circles thick cables of thousands of strands of oxygen free wire have been used to move current and to provide grounds. The mesh of lots of little strands equates to more surface area, and the oxygen free is to prevent oxidation with reduces electron flow on copper.
These folks are merely reinventing the wheel on this.

As a general point I have always supplemented the basic chassis ground and engine ground with higher count wires like this. It has nothing to do with the engine performance issue, just the electircal performance issues.

Their propaganda is funny, comparing copper to aluminium wire? How many cars do you see with Aluminium wire?? Steel wire? STEEL WIRE? in powerlines maybe, but in a car?
The photos show some nice connectors and a all, but price buying the wire for any good car audio store, do the install your self, and save a bundle.
Lastly the claims of HP, milage, and starting would have to antidotal at best until a truely independent lab does a double blind test.
Their best most solidly footed claim seems to be that it at least "won't hurt" performance.
Seriously- if you want to improve the cars grounds buy the cable and do it yourself, I have been doing this for 12+ years.

Hhahaha. First of all - to claim 5 hp from this kind of stuff is ridiculous. Has to be total BS.

This leads right back to the "more spark" discussion - and MORE spark does NOT always equate to MORE power.

Fact is, you'd be lucky to get 5 horses with a new stand-alone ignition system (with an otherwise stock car) that actually does provide a stronger spark - and those systems cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

5 horses from better grounds? These guys are laughing all the way to the bank - dyno graphs or no dyno graphs.

And if you ARE convinced that this will work, you can just buy some 4 gauge or 1/0 gauge audio power wire and do it yourself, as suggested by Dave. Should cost about $20.

If I can spend $20 (as hihoslva says) and gain even 0.25HP, I'm willing to try. Even Flyin' Miata's turbo kit (~$3000) is around $80 per HP.

Dave, you mentioned you've been doing this for 12+ years, would you be kind enough to show us how? Are there specific parts of the engine you need to connect to the chassis, etc?
