i just made mine about 2 days ago. i used 4 guage power wire and gold terminals, i used the instructions on the page above. it seems to be helping out, gas mileage is up about 1mpg, idle is smoother, acc is smoother, headlights dim less when bass hits, and it costed me about 50 bucks for 12 ft of wire and 12 terminals

www.knukonceptz.com. 4 gauge "Kolossus Kable" power wire is 99 cents a foot; comes in red, blue, silver, purple, yellow, and a smoke-black color....

http://www.knukonceptz.com/search_re...btnSearch.y=10

That's be LESS than $15, but figure a few bucks for shipping.

$28 for your amp kit is a pretty good deal, especially with 23 feet of 4 gauge!

Knukonceptz is a great place for wiring and crap - great prices, fast shipping.

lets see 12 ft of Stinger 4 guage wire (arguably the best brand of wires you can buy for car audio) 2 dollars a ft= 24bucks. 6 pairs of 4 guage terminals 4 dollars a set= 24 bucks. +tax about 50 some dollars reread my post and youll see i said with terminals

Arguably? Sure - I'd argue all day that it's pure bullshit.

So you think that using Stinger wire made a difference over using a cheaper brand?

What makes this wire SO GOOD? Please enlighten me.

Hihoslva, I got a chuckle out of that statement also. I would also like to know what makes Stinger so good.

Ummm... DUH! It has cool writing on it! Electricity flows WAY better if there's cool writing on it!

Oh yeah, and let's not forget those incredible terminals, too - at $2 EACH.

I'm guessing those have some kinda performance-enhancing fancy writing on 'em, too......

look i'm not trying to start anything with anyone, there are the people who stick with certain companies even if they are expensive, my whole system is kenwood excelon, not cheap but thats what i wanted, the whole wiring is done by stinger from rcas to fuses everythings nice and clean that way. some people dont care and will buy a jensen amp with JL woofers and radio shack wires. its not like i was trying to get 200 HP from some ground wires. I still saved 50 bucks from buying the actual kit and it made drivability alot better for me. i mean if you are really pressed to save money why dont you just keep looping 22 guage wire until you have a 0 guage wire? 2 bucks a ft aint that bad when you figure that a Fosgate amp kit is like 80 bucks with no RCAS. you could say someone ripped me off if i bought some Baja woofers for 200bucks. I used to install professionally so sue me if want the best brands in my car. not trying to offend anyone or put anyone down just venting and trying to show my POV. thanks

neerajg,

You were the one who mentioned in your post that Stinger is "arguably" the best in car audio wiring. There are many people who do not believe that line of ****. There is no proof that their wire is any better than another brands. For example:

Stinger "Expert Level" 4 gauge wire has 1666 strands @ $1.50/ft.
vs.
KnuKonceptz.com Kollosus Kable 4 gauge has 2058 strands @ $0.99/ft.

Which one do you think has the least resistance?
Which cable do you think is better?

I know you said you are not trying to start anything, but you opened up the can of worms by stating that Stinger is the best wire. Prove to us that it is any better than another cheaper wire and I will gladly say that I was wrong and will probably buy the same wire as you did.

And just to add fuel to this nutty fire:

MANY professional competitors use WELDING CABLE in place of 1/0 gauge wire. Cost? Usually about 50 cents a foot.

The only true difference from one wire to another is flexibility. Welding cable is not very flexible, whereas multi-strand wire geared toward car audio is quite flexible.

And the Knukonceptz wire will be much more flexible than the Stinger due to the greater number of strands.

For conductivity, wire is wire. And I'm right there with Rider69 on this one - PROVE one is "better", and I'll absolutley admit how wrong I am.

You can have your opinions on products, that's fine. But to state that one wire is "arguably the best" is definitely opening a can of worms, because proving such a claim is impossible.

ok i'll bite on this one, ok my opinions are my opinions i agree, what i think might not be right and most people probably wont agree, i didnt start this whole mess, i just posted a reply who wanted to know who has put ground wires in their car. Someone else wanted to "open a can of worms" and say that i got ripped off on some wire. Its just wire, if i spend 2 bucks a ft and you spend .99 cents a foot plus shipping who cares-geez. my original post was to reinforce that you can make the same ground kit for cheaper, which is what you guys are saying too. so if my cheaper is like 50 and someone elses is 30 and someone elses was 3 bucks for the kit great. I didnt originally say that i got the best deal and everyone should do it. And i didnt say that the little logo gives me 20hp, but when you've got a car that you show and show up with a pyramid amp and homemade RCA cables thats not the impression you want to make. So to make a long story short if you dont like what other people are saying or you think people are making a mistake dont just jump out and say "who ripped you off" as to say i dont know what i'm doing with my money. you couldve just said " you know you can get it for 99 cents a ft online heres the website..." maybe i'm just taking things too offensively, and if i am then my fault, but this thread was on who has ground wires and what kit is good. and all of us said that we made our own for cheaper so why nit-pick? Has anyone noticed that the person who started the thread hasnt even posted anything back? Cant we just stick to the topic and stop ridiculing everyone........"Cant we all just get along" -sniffle-
