it comes with 130 Hp.....you can whip almost anthing if you run them through twisty turny roads....in a straight line? well that is a different matter..

as for your other question as to how much HP can you buy...well as the sign in the speed shop reads..

"Speed costs money....how fast do you want to go"

pro 5 puts 100hp to the front wheels stock
the stratus will eat it alive stock!
correct me if im wrong but the stratus is a 2.4l 160hp

handling is a different world
with just upgradable wider rims and tires (16" to keep center of gravity low) and some lowering springs
theres not to much that can beat our little "wagon" !!!!

What's important is hp to weight ratio. The Stratus has 30 more hp, but how many more lbs is it packin'. There used to be a couple threads about P5's beating V6 Mustangs OTL.

For $800 you can have enough hp at the wheels to beat a Stratus, if that's your thing! You just have to spend it wisely...

Umm, hang on. Since when is the Stratus so big and bad? I can already outrun them stock. The new R/T manual would spank me, but the 2.4 is nothing impressive, nor is the auto six.

Yeah and the Protege's gear ratio's are fine for the stock engine, its not peaky, so they don't need to be any shorter + they are not extremely long...
