Depends how i run it. Usually i take it to 7000 in first, then 6700 in second, then, varies on condtions but between 6000 and 6600. The car does 180 in fourth if you wind it out all the way almost to the limiter...

I definitely don't think our cars can go 180...I am assuming you are talking kmh and not mph What is the conversion to mph? Thanks

i usually take mine to about 6000 and **** on a daily basis. and as for the rev limiter... clearing out the carbon? your car is brand new. what carbon? you never want to bounce off the rev limiter... that's a very bad thing. your engine is running lean at that point. fuel cut off.. get it?

I was just joking about the carbon statement (hence the evil grin...) As long as you keep it off the rev limiter, is it ok to take it that high, or will it run lean anyways?

as long as you don't hit the rev limiter.. you're good to go.

i've done 185km/h in my pro 5....takes awhile after 170 due to drag problems

oh ya usual drving i shift around 3-4krmp's,

racing i usualy shift around 7k, if driving in heavy snow then 1 or 2k and start in second and keep it below 4krpms

I hit 180 km/h even with two other people in the car.....

ran out of room, but it accelerates really slow past 160 km/h

The P5 should go over 190km/h easily, I take my 1.6l to 160km/h almost everyday, a guy I know that tested a car like mine at a race track said that he was able to reach 190km/h, that's the top speed according to him, Ill have to try that someday

This is based on a 96 2.0L FS motor, but should illustrate the importance of learning where to shift. We do NOT drive hondas where the peak power is at redline. They can simply shift at redline and go on about their business. . . The FS motor has a more traditionally power curve, where peak torque and power occur well below the redline of the motor. . .

it is tempting for people to shift at peak power. For FS owners you will loose. . . If you shift at peak power, you start the next gear WAY out of the power band. . . This idea is that you pass up peak power, enough to strike a balance between the power you were making when you left a gear and the power you will make when you enter the new gear. . . Based on dyno results for my 96 FS, I have mathematically solved for the optimized shift points for my motor, base on the gearing, etc.

6300 (1st-2nd), 6050 (2nd-3rd), 5900 (4th-5th). During a 1/4-mile run, you do not want to shift into 4th gear. . . the loss of power by staying in 3rd outweight the loss in time shifting. . . .

I have also include a power chart for my optimized shift points and shifting at the motors peak power at 5300rpm. Set 1 (red) is optimized. Set 2 (blue) is shifting at 5300 rpm.

Enjoy,

ive gone 197-199KPH (just under 200) on a STOCK setup (i have 5 ppl that can confirm this) the speed probably wasn't exacaly 199 but thats what the speedo said, now i have a CAI and a full catback so i will try again when it warms up..

BTW i did this test with 5 ppl in the car on an OPEN road no one in SIGHT, flat, long, middle of the day, bright out, radar detector lol

yup thats like how i did it

there was me....and 3 other friends int he car when i did my max...and i've hit my max (well not max speed limiter max) about 3 - 4 times now.

hmmm but isn't it tru that the 1.8L FP-DE has a little more power than the 2.9L at higher RPMS...so I still don't know much about the 1.8L shifting...can someone clear it up for me...maybe if someone has a stock 2.0L dyno...and a stock 1.8L dyno....can someone maybe show my them
