How can i tell what kind of tranny is in my car

I just had to get a new trans from the dealer. They put a remanufactured trans in. I looked at the trans and the model number says zp4a090r. So i called mazda and said what kind of trans did you put in my car. They said a mazda remanufactured. so i aske what type is that. he said i have a part number and he gave me zzp4a-19-090r. So what type of trans do i have?????

so its a rebuilt f25m-r? One of the guys in a shop i got my 626 trans rebuilt said when they get rebuild kits they have all the updates from the later models. If the F series is weak would they upgrade the trans or just leave it the same?

i could not tell you if mazda has revamped that trans. what i can tell you is most of the problems had with mazda transmissions is due to the fact of the cooler lines plugging. i can tell you if you had it installed by a mazda dealer and they did their job right they have to flush the lines in each direction for something like 20 minutes each. with these trans you have to follow the fluid change schedule religiously or you will have problems.
