yeah when they are out I'll get 1 silver oilcap MP5 2nd design, and 1 silver battery tiedown,

I don't suppose you are gonna offer a chrome option for those silver ones are you, because I mean they just look like machined metal, which of course I'm sure it is. I'm not placing a order right now really it's just so I'll be included in the thread, I'll wait until you start takin orders

Okay so gujustud let me know when everything is ready. Maybe I can save on some shipping by getting the battery tie down and the oil cap at the same time. I am also looking for the rad cover.

Its funny you mention chrome.

I took one of the aluminum tiedowns, and I've spent maybe a good 2+ hours on hand polishing this sucker. It looks SOOOOO chrome its not even funny... but boy does it look MINT... I'm suspect wether to keep it for myself or sell it...

I could always chrome up the oilcap as well, but it would take me some time...

skyhawk: sorry about lack of Rad caps replys. I took a look at our cap, and the only option I have is to make a cover for that cap. There is a lot more pressure on that cap, hense the complex design of it. I'll look into making covers for it after I pump out the oil caps. I'm getting material tomorrow...

Oil Cap Color

Hi gujustud

Does the red match or come close to the red tower brace?

Also can the battery holddown be used on the P5 as well? I only see pics for struts with no brace.

Thanks
Bruce

Hi bruce! Unfort the red strut bar that comes STOCK is more so a painted red, not anodized, so it won't match exactly, take a look at this pic for a better idea of the color of red:

All the pictures you see are ones in my car ('99 Protege)... I haven' taken any others in anyone elses car, but I soon will.

The current tie down wasn't designed so well as I didn't design it for the Protege5, or those protege's with the stock strut bar. Grumble, that really pissed me of that it comes in the way, so the battery tie down won't fit, however the new one I am designing will fit all of the protege's with or without the strutbar (gen3+). I will keep you posted...

Sure thing, nooo prob! Lots of people would like the tiedown bare and want to do their own mods to it, and I APPRECIATE that! I wanna see what funky thing ppl want to do. Remember I only did this for the fellow Proteger's so that they can customize their car... Send me a email or PM on good ways to polish the sucker...

Question One question...

I know there is not to many people with this problem, but for those with Optima batteries, the factory tie-down does not work properly. I do not know how hard it will be to design and build one that fits, but you might give it a try. It seems the Optima is lower than the factory.

Its funny you mentioned that. One of the guys from our club, also has another battery in his car (not sure what kind) but it is much lower than the original battery, and he currently has the stock tiedown bent to hold his battery down. I'm currently designing a battery tie down specifically for his to fit. I'll find out what kind he has, and if ends up being the same as yours (I know the cover of the battery is red) then I'll make make another one if you want it.

Custom baby, its all about the custom!
