What would be good (performance wise) combination!?!

1) HKS CAT & INJEN CAI

or

2) MAZDASPEED CAT & INJEN CAI

Definitely getting the INJEN CAI! Also, does anyone have videos or sound files of either exhaust on a protege 5? If so, post them up!

get a full CAT-BACK system. just about any one will do.....I don't think mazdaspeed makes one.

 

defanitely get a full catback, not the mazdaspeed or hks rear sections. the mazdaspeed isn't gonna do much for you. a catback combined with injen CAI should yield some notacible gains. Skunk 2, bosal, and racing beat make catbacks for our cars.

 

look into have a local performance shop fabricate a system for you. i'm planning on doing this in the spring. custom fab'ed short ram intake and full cat back exhaust.

should cost roughly 60-70% of buying the "name" stuff at the most. plus i'll have more flexibility in choosing my exhaust note.

 

Fly'n Miata makes a cat back using light weight stainless steel. They also will have a turbo kit avaible soon.
