Got my Kartboy Shifter Bushings installed

I received my Kartboy Shifter Bushings this weekend and was dieing to put them in. Well, I took about 20 minutes this afternoon and installed them. The install was very easy. The biggest part isn't the install, but jacking up the car. I'm always nervous under cars, so I took a little extra time just to make sure.

Anyway, the old bushing is a solid piece and you just have to force it out. It's kind of a pain. Once the old one's out, the two halves of the new one go in very nicely. There's a little shaft that was in the old bushing that I assumed I was supposed to put back in the new ones. Anyway, once they were installed I lowered the car and gave it a test drive.

I was very surpised by the difference they made. I already had a B&M short shifter installed, and these improved even more on that. They give a very definite, solid feel to each shift. Any questions, just shoot away!

Where are the bushings located? Under the shifter or at the other end of the rod by the tranny?

The bushings are actually on a second rod that goes from the shifter housing to the tranny. Apparently it stabilizes the housing of the shifter to provide leverage for the shift lever. Anyway, the bushings are at the tranny end of this rod. Regardless, the bottom line is that they work great!

I got mine a couple weeks ago, but didn't install them until today. I've been busy with other stuff on the car until now but finally climbed under and put them in. Man! What a difference they make! Much more positive action. I still have the stock shifter but I can't believe the difference a bushing makes. The shifter doesn't flex going into any gear and there's no left to right slop either. MUCH more positive. I highly recommend these since they are cheap insurance against missing a shift.

Getting Kartboy Shifter Bushing

Hey Guys,

I have a question to ask I would like to get a shifter bushing for my 02 P5 but I was informed by the guys at kartboy that due to some deal setup with there venders they can't sell one to me because I live in Canada. The question I have for you is can anyone purchase one of the bushings for me and I will pay them for it. This is a big inconvenience for you but I can't think of any other way to get one. I can pay through paypal or sent a money order. Can anyone help me out.

Andrew

You'd basically have to pay for shipping twice then. Once to get it shipped to someone and then again to get them to ship it to you. right now the bushings are $20 U.S. plus $5 shipping. I don't know how much it costs to ship from here to B.C., but it can't be too bad. I live right below you in Washington state. If you want to cover the cost of me having to re-ship it from here I'd be willing to do it.
