Is this the same as what you posted somewhere else? Intakes are a touchy subject. some people say they give all kinds of noticable power, and some don't. A front mounted scoop type thing sounds like it would be great for our cars. I heard that our cars don't register air temperature making an CAI useless, but i think that it would still help. If the air being pulled into the engine is colder it is denser, regardless of whether or not the computer realizes it.
Again, I have heard that front scoops have problems with rocks and sucking water. Water inside an engine is bad. Make a custom set up of your choice and let us know what you did.

intakes
yeah i posted this in like 2 other places. i really wanted to know and i have gotten only like two replies back. yeah i didnt know the comps. dont read temp. but seriously i dont think that would be a problem either. the front monut intake i have read in some cases have a lexan shield on the front of them and it protects the filter. so i dont know. i have to do some reasearch.

Try this thread:

There is some impressive power gains in that dyno pull with the just the lid off the filter, not removing the filter. Maybe intakes are worth the money

one thing .... the 2.0 does read intake temp.... i hooked up an obdII program and there was a reading for intake temp... with my aem intake at idle it was 79 degrees at any speed over 35 the temp went down to nearly ambient temp.... so the car must compensate for intake temp...

Road debris is going to be a problem with a front hood scoop setup. I checked under the hood of my friends WRX and his intercooler is knicked to all hell from rocks and stuff and he only has like 4000 miles on the car

Didn't Hunter from Protegetch do a front-mounted exhaust through the headlight type thing on his car? I swear I saw an article about it with photos and everything.
Yup.. here we go..
