Can I just buy the magnaflow muffler and just install that? Will that make a difference? Note that I do not expect any HP gain from this, just in it for the exhaust note.

 

You can, but it looks tacky IMO. Every car that I've seen with just the muffler makes the muffler look like it's hanging down at an angle.

IMO, if you're going to buy a muffler, you might as well pay a little for the piping. Then you can get a tid bit more power and have it look neater.

or maybe i'll be cheap and just buy a tail pipe w/ resonator. I heard i can get them for like $50.

 

I have a Dynomax Bullet and its really throaty but not too loud. I only paid like $45 for it and its the best so far. It is a straight through and its perforated not louvered. If you want performance stay away from louvered they often cuase more back pressure than stock.............Duncan
