Thumbs up Flowmaster

I just had a flowmaster exhaust system installed on my pro yesterday and I must say it is AWESOME. Very deep and throaty. I love it.

Just wanted to put that out there.

pics to come soon!

What kind of muffler did you get? 40 series, 50 series,... delta or not? Been going back and forth between Borla and Flowmaster. All I am interested in is sound and not HP. 50 series+ delta is quiet on a V6 so Im a bit nervous about getting it installed on the 4 banger.

I know its a 40 series but the rest Im not sure. If you are looking for the sound I would definatly reccomend the flowmaster. I work at an exhaust/ transmission shop and I just gave the exhaust guy my keys and let him do his thing. He did put a resignator on there if that makes a difference. I dont know too much about exhaust. But I will ask him more later and see what all is on there.

I can't imagine hearing a Flowmaster on anything but a V8.

Not knocking your muffler, but I'd be curious to hear what it sounds like.

A co-worker of mine had a flowmaster exhaust installed on her Cavalier(not sure what year Cav or what series muffler). It was a four-cylinder and sounded a lot like a dirt bike too me.......Not exactly the throaty noise they make on larger engines. A bit higher pitched I guess.

I don't know about having a 40 series. That is definitely for the larger blocks. I guess thats why he added the resonator.

I wasnt too sure about it either. But this guy has been doing exhaust for a while so I trusted him. And he did a great job. I dont know too much about the whole 40 series. I do know that we mostly work on mustangs and camaros and 40 series is all we keep in stock. But you are right, he put the resignator on there to quiet the sound. It's still pretty loud but its definatly not a dirt bike sound I wish I had a sound clip of it, you guys wouldnt believe how deep and throaty it is!

my roommate has a flowmaster on his 97 avenger. Sounds friggin amazing. It actually sounds more crisp then the stock 98 GT mustang that parks next to him.
