Question Exhaust

I need someone to answer this that know what he/she is talking about.
Im putting exhaust on my car and I was wondering how big of a pipe I should go for my 1.6 liter. Should I go 2 1/4" Or 2"?? ...Cause I ehrd 2 1/4" inch is too much air..so I dunno! Let me know
thanks

ok well i know for the 2.0L they say to go 2 1/4"

so i geuss for the 1,6L you should go for about 2" because it doesn't need a size much bigger, that is my geuss... because the 1.6 doesn't push as much exhaust gases as the 2.0 so if you go too large the exhaust gases wont flow as well...

i think the 2" will give u just the right amount of backpressure u need and flow nicely with a 1.6L

but i could be wrong, i'm just posting from what i know and my opinions...

It really depends on what your future goals are. If you plan to do more engine mods, go with the 21/4. If you are going to leave it near stock(performance wise) go with mandrel bent 2".

i would say 2.25" would be plenty and wouldn't hurt anything...your cats and manifold will provide enough backpressure (wrong term) to keep everything in check.
