Exhaust

Can some people give me some feed back on what they think about their Cat backs that have been installed. I've been looking at Bosal, Borla and Racing Beat.

Bosal from what i've heard from different performance shops tend to dismantle themselves?? Dont know how/why but thats the scoop. I've looked into racing beat, they have a nice deep sound to them but lack in the HP gain. Me personally i'm having someone do a custom 2.5" piping(t304 mandrel bent) for my exhaust. Its cheaper, plus i'm planning on doing a turbo soon. A simple catback will NOT give you a great amount of HP, but it sounds better than stock+if you tweek a certain amount of things you'll get gain.... Good Luck!

I got a custom cat-back also w/a magnaflow exhaust. You save money going custom and you get the same results if not better. Unless you are going turbo like ZoomPR5man, just get 2.25 piping.

If you think you may have to change your car back to stock(selling it, new toy, etc..) it is best to have your exhaust done from the resonator and back, keeping the stock cat and resonator. It will save you A LOT of money in changing your exhaust system back to stock standards.

I have the Bosal system on my P-5...been running it for a year....and have had NO problems at all....there have been only a few people that I know of that had any problems at all...and there was a weak weld on their systems and they got them fixed and no problems since....

Mine fits PERFECT....its polished Stainless Steel from front to back...and its sounds great.....I love it!!

sir nuke, does your exhaust have a pretty big muffler? I noticed that bosals usually have a canister type muffler with a 3" tip. I am looking for something a little bit smaller and less noticable. Tell me what you think.

I have a custom t304 mandrel-bent cat-back with the resonator removed and a Bomb-style Pro-1 muffler (3" tip, makes it looks mean and purposeful)...for the two weeks I've had it, no problems so far. Cost me $230 total for the piping, muffler, install, etc.

For the Protege 5 there is also the Thermal R&D cat-back set up. It has a two inch tip and looks nice. You can get it through FM Protege. They have that exhaust on their Protege 5...

Racing Beat

I vote Racing Beat. Had it on for about 3 months. Very happy with it. Looks like it came with the car. Nice sound, deep, not too loud, even on the highway. Very nice tip IMO.
