Question engine idle question...

I've noticed lately that once my car is at a good temp. that my idle is still quite high. its at around 1000rpms. I know that the normal is between 700-800rpms. i have no MIL, clean air filter, oil has been changed, tried disconnecting the battery and letting the comp reset and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas? With gas prices this high, i need to conserve on fuel. Thanks for the help.

Check for stupid stuff like vacuum leaks, bad grounds, loose connectors, fuel filter, sticky accelerator cable, gummed up throttle body assembly, tension on your belts, etc., etc.
Also stop and think about when this started and anything that changed between now and when the idle was normal. After the easy and free stuff, then go drop some coin on a mechanic. I gotta agree with The Man - get this fixed (before it becomes something big).
