It would save a lot of $$ seeing as the filters I have seen are like $30. Just an idea. I dont even know if it is possible with our cars.
Yes there's a thread around here somewhere that has pics of someone who did that.

About that getto looking intake. just do not use duct tape, instead just clamp it onto MAP sensor and it will look ok. On '02 sedan.

Don't forget you have to poke a hole for the air temp sensor(or thermometer as we say in these parts)

so you think the maf is making it jerk? b/c i made a rubber gasket around the maf and mine still jerk/ hesitate real slightly. when i sent my intake back to injen they saw a small gap between the maf and the maf bracket. i did the short ram and still no solution i dont see why though. the intake almost takesthe same path as factory intake, isnt it about the same size tubing as factory? i never got a check engine light, THe maf is in the same position as it was in the factory air box . Could the injen filter make a difference? maybe not . I just dont get the slight jerking it feels like its not getting air but it is. But if it isnt why doesnt the check engine light come on? But when you hook the factory air box up the car runs perfect maybe are when getting too much air? well i give up thats why im trying to sell it

I don't know, I'm using the Ractive filter which is a smaller opening so maybe that's why mine doesn't jerk as much. As I said, it doesn't eliminate it 100% but it makes it a lot better than it was before. I think the real reason is the poorly designed MAF we have. I wish there was a way to switch out MAFs with one from a 1.8/2.0 Pro.
