compression question

hey, all. posting under a friend's name (his 1.6 as well). i was wondering how high we can go on compression using the stock head. also, any problems with doing a headswap or changing rotating assemblies on our own? i drive a mustang and i know on the 4.6's the heads warp if the headbolts aren't tightened at the same time so heads can't be swapped at home without expensive equipment.

high compression on a 1.6 will yield little results for lots of money, as there are no off-the shelf high compression pistons,so everything would be custom....your money is much better spent on turbo..check out wagner motorsports...as far as head swaps, the whole engine can be found on e-bay all the time for about $500. you are much better off replacing the engine if you greak something major....
