Roddimus, you are right, paper filters are just as good on a flow bench. Really, there isn't much difference. But, I would rather have an oiled cloth element or sponge element on the end of a CAI, if for no other reason than it is mounted down low where it can get damp. I am guessing that a damp cloth or sponge filter is going to be a lot more durable than a wet paper one. (Before anybody says anything about hydrolocking again, the filter will get wet on any CAI, but you won't suck up any water unless you submerge it - you need vaccuum to suck up water!)

if you're worried about this I have an Injen Hjeatshield I have just stripped and prepped for powdercoating I'm going to sell on here. I can match colors but it wount be seen by anyone unless you have an SRI.
