Cleaning K&N filter
I installed the AEM SRI about 4 months ago and I guess I ran around 5000KM, and I start hear that the sounds getting deep, not as loud as before. I think I need to clean the filter, right?
How do I clean the filter?
My friend do told that I can just go to Canadian Tire, but a K&N filter cleaner, then take the filter out...blah blah...
And after I wash it, I need to wait for the filter to cget dry, right?
It probably take half day.....
Can I run the car w/o the filter?

whoaaa can you run the car w/o the filter?!?!?!?! NO NO NO not if you value your engine. to clean you spray the cleaning **** on it, let it sit for a few minuts, then wash it out, then let it dry, and spray the grease on it. DO NOT RUN CAR WITH OUT FILTER.

If you're so worried about the filter drying out, use a hair dryer or hold it out the window of a friends car. Doing things properly will pay off (eg letting it dry all the way).

or tke the filter off in the evening when you know you won't need the car then clean it and let it dry overnight then put it back on in the morning before you ned the car again. But do not drive the car without the filter.

DO NOT DRY THE FILTER WITH A HAIR DRYER!!!! Even K&N says not to do that. The heat will cause the cotton gauze to shrink, thereby causing weaknesses in your filter which will allow dirt to get through the compromised areas. How about reading the directions on the Filtercharger Cleaning Kit???
