? for carguycw or anyone

my 1.6 liter sux in the power department as others I'm sure have realized. Is it worth going turbo or is the answer another car? Don't want to comprimise MPG too much and life-expectancy.

anyone can throw in their 2 cents, carguycw doesn't accept PM or email

thanx in advance for any feedback

First of all, I am highly flattered that you singled me out to answer this question for you. I am truly humbled. BTW I didn't even realized I had pm turned off, it's enabled now.

Now that I'm through with all that... ditto Pseudo's comments. Can you make a 1.6L Pro faster? Sure. How much do you want to spend? What are your goals?

As for getting another car... no offense to you 1.6L owners out there, but the 1.8L/2.0L cars have a lot going for them. Not only do they have bigger engines, but also bigger front brakes, a rear disk brake option (01+), better parts availability, and better tranny gearing. The brakes and tranny ratios can be swapped, but it will be costly and far from easy. You may get a 1.6L to equal the horsepower output of a stock 1.8L or 2.0L, but the bigger engines will put out more low-end torque than the 1.6L EVER will without f/i. And it's easier to add f/i to the bigger engines too.

Again, what's your goal here?

I speaketh from experience in saying "yes" to those words. Also they are very reliable as long as you stick to 5w-30 synthetic oils.

Personally I want to get a rx-7 and swap an LS1 into the car you can do it all for under 10k and get 28-30mpg with a v8 under the hood.
