they are in. feels different. i notice no loss in power low end. the car pulls a little harder the whole way through. i beat my friends car that i was even with before they went in, we raced to compare. he has a pontiac grand am. its older and a little beat, but i beat him 2nd time around.

Where did you get the installation done, and how much did it cost?

i had it done at the mazda service center where i bought my car. cost me little over 300, but i had them replace all the gaskets and stuff while they were in there. i wish i had the time to do it myself but unfortunatly i need my car for work.

my mods are listed in my signature. i also have the AWR Header in the mail. should be here in time to put it in this saturday if i'm not mistaken with all your mods (intake/exhaust/header/cams) you gained 30whp? i'll guess i'll be in the same boat soon enough.

The MazdaSpeed/J-Spec cams are so mild that they really don't add much power without proper tuning. Maybe a bit more with the addition of the header, but I'd say closer to a gain of 15-20whp. If you had a piggyback or standalone, you could probably see 20-30whp. If and when I get cams they'll definitely be custom.

after reading all the posts about cams and headers, i dont feel it is worthy mods after all the car won't go more than 200 hp, unless there's turbos. dont get me wrong, i have protege5 - i want both cams and headers.... but why spending it so much on it if it kept you under 160-170 hp? ain't tryin' to start something here, just my thought.

this is just the start. around 50k miles or so i'll be rebuilding and putting in high compression pistons and better rods. and as they become available, a larger throttle body and intake manifold. i'm shooting for around 200whp which IS do-able. but there isn't that much out there yet. i'm just not doing it all at once. lets not get into some kinda argument about this, sure an already fast car with minor mods is always gonna beat me, but i'll look better and be keeping up (eventually)

with your mods I would guess around 23-25 extra hp...Phantom Cruiser gained about 20whp with the stock exhuast (minus the muffler, replaced with a magna-flow I think) and stock intake, so hopefully the addition of the intake and cat-back you will make at least 5hp more than her 20...

Riz, no agrument here it'd be sweet to have headers myself and it probably will make my car even louder which is what i want. i hope you accomplish your goal on over 200hp, it'll be pretty awesome.

I'm really interested in re-dynoing my car, because I think it is doing more now (with RB cat-back) than it was before (with Magnaflow muffler).

This 100 degree heat sucks though...I am going to wait until it's cooler
