The Bosal Shake

Do all bosal exhausts rattle , especially at 4k or higher on the tach? Has anyone done anything about it ? As far as I can tell I've mounted it on properly. Its still not stationary.... I've noticed other aftermarket exhausts dont shake as much. I also noticed someone's bosal broke off , was that because of the exhaust shook so damn much it just caved and snapped off?

Yeah, but you own the p5 exhaust....mines the sedan. Well damn there shouldn't be any differences , beside the the tip on yours is a bit shorter. I'm still curious though , maybe other sedans have the same problem. Whenever you put the bosal on you p5... you just used the bolts and the rubber mounts , right?

i'm not sure what you mean by shaking. whenever you rev it, it moves because of our hangers. you're putting pressure through it, and it's just sort of moving on the rubber hangers. it was my bosal that snapped off. i think this was a freak occurance and so far, i've had no problems with my new bosal rear section.

that is correct...the rear section is suspended with the hangers/rubber mounts and the rest is just bolted together.

Yeah that rattle sounds like its pretty noraml to me. Its gonna vibrate a little no matter what.

But uhh sorry to get off topic (well its kinda related) but those of you p5 owners with the bosal system, does your exhaust tip line up perfectly with the cut out from the rear bumper? Cause mine sits ever so slightly ****-eyed to the left. Its not perfectly in the center of the exhaust cut out. Thanks

Damn, yeah that looks good. Mine is about 2 inches to the left. I'm not sure what i can adjust to fix it. I looked at the hangars, but they're pretty stationary. And when i put the exhaust on there was really only way it would go on the minimal amount of bolting to do. Perhaps I got a odd bent exhaust, or what? Any suggestions? Thanks.

sweeden, it probably still is the hangers. the rubber piece can be pulled along the rods and you can sort of adjust where it sits. thats where i found my off center problem was. just look under there again, and you'll see what i mean. play with where the hangers are in the rubber.

Also....IF you got one of their systems when they FIRST came out....they didn't fit that well....like yours do....Bosal ADJUSTED the hanger rods and made them a little different so that they fit PROPERLY.....

I got a later system.

The above information came from Mitch at Protege5Online.com where I got my system.

ALright, thanks guys. I'll take a closer look at it after work tonight. I think I purchased my Bosal around February or March. So I'm not sure if its an earlier model or not. I'll try to look into that as well.
