I remember seeing tons of import tuner cars in Vancouver. I lived in Seattle for a long time and only recently moved down to FL. I used to go to Vancouver once a month with friends, just to party Just be smart about where you park your ride.

I don't think the exhaust is loud enough to be heard a block away. I personally don't want it to be that loud

just wondering if any of you guys still have exhausts on backorder. (by the way i am a parts guy for a mazda dealer in IL) if any of you do and they still dont have them in yet go to the dealer and say you want the order upgraded or hotlined. i know for a fact the sedan exhaust(racing beat/mp3 style 0000-8m-c08)is now available and have recieved 2 of them in the past week and the pro5 are also available. if your dealer leaves it on a regular stock order god only knows when it will arrive as mazda will ship the supply of mufflers first to the dealers with the upgraded orders. by the way if any of you have ordered the sedan muffler i just want to let you know you may not be happy with the fit of the muffler as it does hang down a little bit due to the fact it is made for the mp3 that has a lower valance added to the rear bumper and also is very silent and almost stock sounding. to the pro5 owners i would definitely recommend the sport exhaust 0000-8m-c10 as fit and finish is perfect and it has one of the nicest sounds i have ever heard on a four cylinder. not too loud and nice and bassy. hope that helps if any of you have any other questions i am here for ya.

I was about to get the sport muffler found in the brochure of accessories for the protege sedan. The dealer told me it wasnt the MP3 muffler. What YOU are saying is that it wont look quite right on the sedan because it hangs lower. Now my question is, is there an equivalent to Maxx Mazda's Mazdaspeed muffler for the sedan or am I out of luck?

the muffler in the brochure is the mp3/racing beat muffler. all i can say is the one we put on a customers car hung way too low and i personally didnt like the looks of it. i am not for certain but i think you may be able to remedy it hanging low with possible a different exhaust hanger. dont quote me on that but im sure something is possible. as far as an equivalent to maxx mazda's muffler i couldnt tell ya as i have never even heard of it.

Don't rely on the brochure or Mazdastuff web site, as the part numbers you see are not all correct. Here are the true part numbers:

0000-8M-C08 - Sedan Sport Exhaust (MP3 exhaust)
0000-8M-C09 - Sedan MazdaSpeed Performance Exhaust
0000-8M-C10 - P5 MazdaSpeed Performance Exhaust

I've ordered C09 for my sedan, I'll confirm that it's the Mazdaspeed when I get it. When I ordered, I had the parts guy actually look that number up, because at first he just didn't see it in the parts listing. But in the computer, C09 actually says Mazdaspeed exhaust. So if you order, make sure you specify the part number and insist they look it up in the computer, or they might mistakenly order the C08 (MP3 exhaust, aka "Sport Exhaust").

In other words Sedanman, you don't want the exhaust that is shown in the brochure.

AustinPro:

I want the equivalent of Maxx Mazda`s Mazdaspeed Muffler but for the sedan instead of the wagon. There is no picture in the accessories brochure that I have of the muffler so that is why I am unsure.

jblon78:

This is Maxx`s exhaust, hope I didn't confuse you too much.http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c5/spi.../Exhaust.shtml

SedanMan,

This is what you want:

0000-8M-C09 - Sedan MazdaSpeed Performance Exhaust

The MazdaSpeed Performance Exhaust is NOT listed in the brochure or Mazdastuff web site at this time. I believe that is because it is a new part, you will probably see it in the future. The dealer may not even know about it, that's why you need to make sure to request it by part number and make them look it up in the computer. In the computer, it WILL say Mazdaspeed Performance Exhaust. This should be the same as MaxxMazda's exhaust, I will confirm it when I receive it.

If you have them look up 0000-8M-C08 in the computer, it will say Sport Exhaust (the MP3 exhaust and not what you want).

Excellent!

Its a race, and no matter who wins, I still get the information I want. I really hope that 0000-8M-C09 looks like the C10.

Question Backorder for Mazdaspeed Exhaust

I ordered my Mazdaspeed Exhaust and received it in about two weeks time. Final price $205.00. Have yet to put it on, waiting for Injen CAI which is in route, also Howie is in the body shop because of what that mean old lady did to us while she was changing lanes on the cell phone at 50 MPH.

Will post again later after installation.

By the way, the stock # I have is:

Protege Sedan #0000-8M-C09
Protege 5 #0000-8M-C10

This is the number of the MAZDASPEED Performance Exhaust, which I received at the dealership yesterday.

Phishinbond, did you haggle the price of the exhaust cause my dealership is charging 395$CDN. And even with the exchange rate yours came up a much better deal.

Racing Beat Cat-Back Exhaust Purchased

I was notified last Thursday that I should receive my exhaust in 5 to 7 days. I purchased the Racing Beat coils, which required no alignment kit in November, and pre-ordered the exhaust a week later. I will give update with pictures of the installation of the exhaust system.
