Question Anyone tried the 1.8 cloil pack and wires on the FS 2.0?

Any benefit other than lass of a chance of fouling #2 and #4 spark plugs, and a better look?

BTW, I got tired of the Moderator/Owner of that "other" forum so I thinking this will be my new Protege home.

I don't have first hand experience with this ignition set-up. Topher however DOES as he has it on his car. I don't think there is any performance gain to be had on a non-boosted car but maybe with FI you'd get a small bump.

Supposedly the coils for the 1.8L car are a little "hotter" and provide a bit more spark. Other than that I don't know anything about #2 and #4 fouling problems. Maybe Topher can clarify.

What was your name on the other forum...your location is REAL familiar to me but I can't place the screenname.

anyway, welcome to Protegeclub. We keep it clean, on topic (for the most part) and friendly. What we dont have in quantity we make up for in quality!

oh yeah, now the avatar reminded me!!

I know all about being frustrated on other forums. One of the good things here is that when I act like a **** I act like a **** to everyone without playing favorites.

It does work, and Matty is right, the 1.8L coils are a bit hotter, although I don't know about it solving a plug from fouling. Also ever heard this one ?? Switch to 1.6L spark plugs, the will go deeper into the cylinder, this WILL help prevent fouling and also slightly increases compression
