EDIT: so when i buy more items for my "new 1.8", go for the 2 or get the 1.8 parts?

I should clarify. By adjusting the rod length and piston height you effectivly change the volume in the combustion chamber. I don't want people to give people the idea about motor swapping and so forth. I don't know all of those details. I'm only talking about lowering displacement to achieve higher rpms (where engines are more efficient) The inclusion of FORGED internals is a safety precaution for someone "serious about NA power" high rpm's and heavy driving will be better served by forged internals.

I noticed on your part list you said intake cam,but said nothing about exhaust cam...how about the high comp istons too?? how about a swap to FS-ZE manifold along with a port and polish on that too?? perhaps some titanium valve springs and haltech so you can reset you redline higher and take advantage of the higher compression pistons too...with all these improvements to flow it should rev to redline without reducing the stroke....keep in mind the 2.0 is not a "stroker" version of the 1.8L...quite the opposite..the 1.8L FS is a DE-stroked version of the 2.0L(came in the 626 and MX-6 first)

hello? can you swap a 1.8 fs motor in with the 2.0 fsde head? I know in the VW community you can swap motors and heads around on most of the A2/A1 motors and even later heads at that....

the heads are identical...its the stroke that increases the displacement..making a 2.0 into a 1.8 would entail swapping crankshaft and rods and pistons

oh, then never mind....didnt know if any gains were to be had on a 1.8 with a 2.0 head...
