I remember back when Honda released the H22 200hp Preludes around 97, and Road and Track tested a Type H 5sp in Denver which is exaclty 1 mile above sea level...The car couldn't top 8.0sec. 0-60...They later updated the test in 99 some where in North Carolina and an identical trim prelude ran closer to 6.3 0-60...

With NA engines it makes a huge difference...

Have you changed your header since then?
header = same (the bosal one)

we took stuff off...put stuff on...put different exhaust on...with cams/without cams...with header/without header....header does make a big difference!

sorry...sounds like i was having a multiple personality moment..

they make a small amount of difference (over stock), but not as much as the advertising numbers claim.

i am anxious to re-dyno now because i think that with the combo of better intake & better exhaust along with the cams, the car is making more power (or maybe it's the placebo effect?)...it certainly feels more peppy now

16.8 1/4 mi....... is that the average, or the best?
Shaving off a whole second with just i/h/e is pretty amazing...........

don't know what it is for others...but for me it was the best i could do!

i'm hoping to shave off a second...it will be the combination of the mods + driving practice [for me]

Shaving a whole second off with a FS-DE will not be that difficult with just a couple of bolt-ons...The car has adequate torque, but the problem is the lack of higher rpm breathing (which is where most of the revs are in 1/4 run)...The cams will help the engine's rev-band, despite being a tiny gain....The header gets rid of the the pathetic down-pipe, which will definately help across the entire rev range, and an intake and exhuast will also help a little...Getting a FS-DE from 15.8 to 15.lower is a different story without FI..
