Intake question

Next month, I will have $200 and I was wondering what kind of intake to go with. I looked at the H&K and they look real nice... but none for my year. My dad is a mechanic so I was wondering if I could just buy the head, and make tube to the engine...?? make sense? Any input would be nice. I also would like to know if any one knows the difference between a cold air intake and an air charger. Thanks!

car specs in sig --->

save $150 of your $200 and just buy an E-bay special.....works just as good

I am having a hard time finding one that will fit my car... any ideas?? Does it HAVE to match the make and year for the car, or can I get a 2002/1999 intake, and hope it fits?

^ Exactly. ^

I've had an Injen, AEM and Ractive CAI and SRI's. Other than the CAI being a little quieter, there is no difference in gains between brands. Like macdaddyslomo said, save yourself the $$ and just get an e-Bay one.

Yes, our cars (at least with the 1.5) have the wonderful MAF in the middle of everything. Fun huh? I think Ebay only has stuff for the 1.8, which brings up the question: Are the 1.5 and 1.8's MAFs the same size and all or not (assuming they're in the same place)? If they are, then that makes it easier to look around for them. Say, NooB1FieD, how much did the exhaust help?

I love it... it doesnt have that ricey can sound. It has a nice growl that is real low. I think it was worth it. You dont really notice it in the lower rpm range, but when ur up to 4500+ you can feel it. Alone it was pretty peppy afterwards.

Essential speed makes one for both the 1.5 and 1.8l engines.
Good luck dealing with them.
Just make one custom for 100 bucks and then ceramic coat it.
