96 Strut Tower Brace on a 98

Hello,
I can get a Ractive STRUT TOWER BRACE for a 1996 at a good price, and i was wondering if it would fit on my 1998.

Also, why the hell is everything for the earlier years available and nothing for the 1998 model. They look the same to me.

thnx in advance.

Will fit no problem. Well, if you have cruise control, you will neet to modify the mounting bracket a little, but thats for all years and gens.

hey, I always wondered what this strut tower brace does. I know it ties the two towers together so there's no bending or something, but what difference does it make in everyday driving? do I need to race my car (autocross) to see/feel a difference? thanks to anyone who replies.

You would not have to race the car, but a few on/off highway rams would definately show you the difference. Basically, your car would be less prone to lean out of the corner, and you can maintain your speed through the corner. I find it very helpful, especially on the on-ramps. Most of them have a tight apex, so you have to slow down a lot 20-25 mph, and then you accelerate again to get on the highway. I have done this on many occasions where I can take a ramp at 30-35 mph, that way the engine keeps the momentum through the corner, and allows me to get up to speed faster.

TO boricua and murcielago:
You guys can find one on EBAY very cheap and already to go. Some are sold pre-moded for cruise control. Just look for auction that sells this bar: (you can see how this bracket has been modified)

Ok. I got a strut tower brace on my car.. and when u guys talk about cruise control.. what da hell do u guyz mean? lol I never saw anything dealing with cruice control.. so can u guys clarify it for me? All i know that had to be done with my strut bar was drill a hole in it because it had 4 holes, not 3. So we had to drill an extra hole just to fit it.. and now its on, I dun see nothing.

Well, a) you should not have gotten the 4-holed strut bar. b) cruise control has some hardware around the strut mounts thats should have been in the way. But it sounds like you got it OK, even though you redrilled the holes. BTW, how does it feel now?

I don't remember LOL. It's been more than a year. But seriously, once i had it installed, I Previously couldn't burn out real good with my 15 inch rage enduro's, but after I put the strut bar, damn :P I could burn out alot better. Handling's real good.. I want the strut bar for the back now. I got the RActive strut bar and two times, they sent me 4 hole struts, so I just had it redrilled. and put it on
