Post what tranny for 1.8L BPT?

does the 1.8L BPT engine bolt up with a F25M-R tranny? if not what would be necessary to fit the engine in a '97 protege? a tranny swap to a G25M-R or something?

so how much is a G tranny and install? or should i just give up on 2nd gens and look for a decent '94 protege with the G tranny? (i havent bought the car yet, looking into all options) I kinda wanted a '97 protege, but are the 1st gen proteges just as good performance wise? as in suspension, brakes, etc. as the second gens?

Go 1st gen!

NO offense to the 2nd genners , but i would be on the lookout for a 1st gen LX: lighter, has the looks(MY opinion), and you get ALL the GOOD stuff as a 'starter': 4wheel discs, front/rear sway bars, 'course the DOHC, and you get a nice interior with power everything....

if the first gen lx's are so great maybe i should go for one of those instead. i can get one for about 4 grand verses 7 grand for a second gen anyway. does anyone have any pictures of the first gen interior?
