MSD.

If you have a N/A car with no compression changes, then MSD is not very usefull since modern cars have a good quality ignition. If you bought it with interest to change timing, than it was a good buy. If you bought it because nitrous or turbo, then you did a great buy.

If you own a 1st or 2 nd gen, YES you can install the MSD. On the 2nd (lime mine) It will take some skills since you have to open the distributor to find the - and + coil wires. Not a big deal if you have patience and like to play dangerously (40k volts)! I am kidding, you will disconnect the batery first

Anyhow, PM me if you need help on install.

what MSD does? it send constant 500V to the primary coil. At high engine speed the coil simply dont have time to recharge completely for the next spark and therefore misfire at high rpm can occur. also avove 3k the msd helps to provide one huge spark to help burn the mixture better. below 3k you have multiple sparks, which helps to burn the mix. even better. Its too bad msd dont have multiple spark all the way to 6k rpm.
On turbo/nitrous , the amount of air makes it difficult for the spark to jump between electrods, therefore you MUST have a high voltage system like this. Unless of course you like to have a car that misfires when you need it most (above 4-5k rpm).

well, I hope this helps.

peace out

Well on the box it said it increases throttle response and power. I mean i don't expect it to give a WHOLE lot of power. But any performance gain is gonna be beneficial. I got it used from my friend who only had it for a month. He works at autozone so he bought it and i was there with him. 1 month later, he is sellin da integra to get a bike. So he sold it for 150. Now all I need is to install it. I'm not the installer type. I usually pay someone to do it. I ain't going to mess something up lol.

...hummmmm,

you will se a noticeable increase in Throttle response above 3k rpm. nothing like WOA though.

We have two options in this case....

1st) You can try to install it yourself following my tips or,

2nd) take the distributor out, ship it to me with the MSD box and I will install it for y'a for FREE. All you will need to do is to put the distributor back on and conect two wires straight to the battery (VERY EASY).

Very few people IF ANY will install it for you. Even the MSD technichian told me on the phone that it could not be conected to the protege 2 nd.

I could probably mail it back to you in 24 hours.

Its up to you.

What my dad was trying to do is get the guy who sold it to me install it on my pc. Know what I mean? Thanks for the offer but the best thign to do really is to have it installed by my friend Freddie if not, have it installed in washington dc when i go at the end of the week!

ok,

just let them know that it IS POSSIBLE TO INSTALL IT but you need to open the distributor to find the small two wires that lead to the coil.

Torpedo, you have to remeber you do n't have a Honda. and a lot of people won't want to mess with your ignition components. Simply because they don't want to be the ones responsible for replacing a fried motor or electrical system..
I honest think sending it to Marcio for him to install it for FREE ... is frigin a sweet deal ... You only pay for shipping .. what do you have to loose

I love the idea of you wanting to help me. I wouldn't even mind payin for it. I talked to my friend dee who probably has the fastest car in our lil town. He's got a civic runnin under 10 sec's and he told me it'll really be pointless getting a MSD ignition without the blaster 2 coil which I just bought. He says he's going to install it for me for free as well. It's not that your help ain't welcome, but with Dee being close in town, I can have it installed before I go to dc which will help me out as well. Thanks for your help
