I am not sure if the second picture with the intake installed is a 2nd gen protege.
It looks like a 99-00 1.6L to me, but I could be wrong.

The question is:
How do you plug the hose (red arrow) on a AEM intake if their's only one small hole for PCV(that goes to the head) and one for Temp sensor. That 2nd hole missing need to be on section before the MAF.

Hey Turbonium, how did you get the pics to work in the post? You hosted them somewhere else?thanks anyways
And yes the AEM is fit on a real 1.8 2nd gen. I wroted to the guy...

Hi. I went to the folder where the pics were, and clicked on the picture to view. Then, I right clicked on the picture, and the picture's url is right there, all I did is copied it and pasted.

As for your question. I guess that you are asking as to what to do with the Air Temp sensor. What I did at first, was to leave it out in the engine bay, but that read the temp higher then it should, therefore, I have lost some mileage. Since then, I was lucky that the wire on the Air Temp sensor was long enough, so I took off the cone filter, snuck the sensor right inside the cone filter, and put the cone filter back on again.
But if that is not the question, I would PM Bruce about his intake. Here is his picture, and a link to his site where he describes everything in good detail. I didn't know that the intakes on 95-96 were different from 97-98.

the 95-96's have an extra vaccum hose, i don't know what it's for, but us with the 97-98 only have the PCV hose. I don't know what to do with that hose cause i don't have it, but you can try to get some sort oc coupler and havr that hose and the pcv hose connected to the 1 hole in the intake....

and it's not the difference between the 2nd and 3rd gen intakes, it's the difference between the 95/6's and the 97/8's

Thanks man!
I didn't know that so it's a difference between 96-96/97-98 2nd gen.
Thats why the AEM 1.8 fit perfectly on 97-98 Pro showed on the pic.
Damn, I'll have to make an extra hole for that hose.
Or I wonder if I can get rid of it and make it work like a 97-98?

yes between the 95/6 and 97/8 1.5 L protege's the intake is different , as for the 1.8L I am not sure though and really could not tell you ...that intake in there that is the AEM is a really good fit , but would be shaky with the 1.5L , although you could use it , but you would just have to plug up the extra vacum line under the intake with some tissue wich is what I did with the civic intake, but you just can't see it in that pic.....

about plugging the extra hole up...all i did was remove the piece which splits into the 2 sections...i then got a hose(heater hose) which is the same diameter was the stock hose was...then i put the line that came with the intake into the end of that hose...and then into the intake and the car runs fine...took me a while to figure that out tho lol...my car kept dying and finally i realized there was a hole so i eliminated it and boom like new
