Hey, Jordan. Do you think the addition of the muffler could have done something? I can't think of a way how it can, but besides that, have you done anything else to the car?

In that case, what did he do with air temperature sensor? Did he leave it out in the engine bay, or did he slide it inside the filter hose? Not that it would matter, because it could worsen his mileage. Though, I know that on GM cars if the sensor does not sense the right temperature (i.e. too hot), or not plugged it right, the car won't even start. But those are GM cars.

under the throttle body is a hose(tube) that splits into two pieces...get a hose(tube) that is only 1 piece that doesnt split...put it in that spot then into the intake tube...thats what i had to do to keep my car running when i first installed the intake...after i took off that splitter piece and made it one piece and then into the tube(where the hole is in the intake tube) it worked like perfect...just an idea...

check lights

Actually, one was on for a while, but it was not on when all this stuff started to happen, which makes this all the more mysterious, ive heard a couple people say maybe its my intake, but would it cause this, this long after being intstalled? or if its the exhaust, how would that work?

I would not think that it can be your intake or the exhaust. If you are saying that it happens when in 2nd gear specifically, then it might be the tranny. I have a 97 2nd gen too, but mine is auto, so I can only guess, but if I were you, I would take it for a diagnostic run, and then find out what the code means (if there is one).

problem

its really just when i nail the gas really quick, it kinda has a hard time catching up or somthing. i drove it around the block for a short while today, and it seemed fine when i drove at a normal pace, but when i kinda nailed the gas quickly it kinda stuttered, so i still am clueless as what is wrong.

Stupid suggestion but one time I was working on my engine and I removed the air intake tube and filter, when I finished I reinstalled everything but I forgot to plug the air sensor back in. It created a stutor or whatever When I would get to high speeds it was ok. When I looked around the engine bay, I realized that I had forgotten to plug the airflow meter back in.

Im pretty sure that is not the case, but it is a good idea. when we did it, as ik recolect, we specifically made sure that the sensor was in. the current theory is the fuel pump is fucked up. so im looking into that.

I don't know I wish I did but I do know he's from Barbados. Look in the gallery on Protege PR

it's on my sig above the picture.. click Protegepr then the image, then "galeria" then extranjeros and from there on you can do it. You can't go too far 'cause there isn't THAT much content. Give me your opinion of the site if you visit it.
