92 cat back compatible with 97

i have an oem 92 cat back in my garage never used from autozone but now i have a 97 (1.5) protege and i just got a hole yesterday and its load as hell. the rust broke it right after the cat connection. I was wondering if you guys think i could put the 92 in my 97, it would save me a lot, i paid like 100 bucks for the 92 a few years ago but lost the receipt to return it. thnx for your time.

If its sitting in your garage, get underneath your car and compare the two

i lined the two up and it looks like it would fit with minor mods like new hangers but no one in my area will install customer parts. What should i do? Buy and install a cat back for my year that will bolt right in myself or get a shop to do it? Ive been getting quotes all day from shops and there asking from $275(local) - 514(midas). The only one reason i consider a shop is cause the bolts are rusted and its gonna be a pain under my car.
