Talking

looks like i did get an awesome deal! 91 LX 140,000 miles, power everything for $650 in april 2002. 4 problems though:

1. loud exhaust ( actually like how it sounds).
2. Hand brake line is broken.
3. seat belt light stays on.
4. I drive the thing like a madman! can be almost as fun as my RX-7. at least that's what I think till i drive it again.

I payed 2,600 for my 94 pro...which had 100 miles, new tires, new radiator, and new rotors. The lady needed the money really bad I guess.

Hey guys. I've been readin the forum for over a month, finally decided to join the club. I got my '90 black LX, 5 speed, for FREE from my dads friend(He was tired of repairing it), back in Feb 2000. It had 148k on it and kept blowing the radiator hoses one by one. By the second one i hoped it was just the head gasket and nothing more. After changing the gasket, water pump and remaining hoses, and really getting to drive this car, I can say this is one of the best and most fun cars i ever had.

Well thats enough for now.

welcome Big V!

forget how much i paid - its been 12 years ....IIRC the 91 Pro LX stickered for $10,999. got all the original paperwork somewhere...

i honestly love EVERYTHING about the car - performance, looks, interior layout, etc. i wish i could have bought a second one brand new and stored it... : the 3rd gen is definitely a nice version; just hard to beat the original with the BP

My first post.

Last november, I paid $300 for a '91 5 speed LX with:

New tires, timing belt, left hand CV shaft, water pump, and some other stuff. The catch? It had a blown tranny and 198k miles.

I paid someone $350 for a 108k mile engine/tranny combo out of an Escort GT and swapped it in with my friends, and it's run like a champ so far!

I'm still learning things about the car to this day, and I'm going to start my performance mods soon. I can't wait for the autocross season to start again!

$1500 for my 92 DX with 110000 miles

Stalled on me once, turn signal is busted, need a new one, taillight has a crack in it, fenders bent, (my fault),needed a new cv shaft hood is all scratched up, windshield is barely able to see through with all the rock chips in it, interior was perfect until my brother punched in the horn, now it doesnt work, n its too much for how little of a deal it is...if the tranny is cold, it sez im doin 120 when im doin 45, speakers are blown out... trunk is ugly, rim is bent, exhaust broke, muffler doesnt connect to rest of exhaust....uhhh, ill keep you posted with everything else....

I think it was more than that, more like 12,000 something. I paid $10,000 (exacty) for a 91 DX in July 91. That was after a rebate that put it under dealer invoice by about $250.

How much mine cost depends on how you look at it. I bought mine with the sale of some Microsoft stock that I originally paid $2500 for. By 99 that stock would have been worth $430,000. Now it is a bit under $200,000. I tell people I one one of the most expensive cars in the world. It might also be one of the cheapest cars in the world.
