What did you pay for your protege?
what did you guys pay for your protege? Did you get a good deal for the condition of your car or get burned?
I paid $650 for a black '91 LX last April, which I found was actually a good deal, considering my car had pretty much all the options, and the paint looks like new still after all this time.
I guess the car is worth around $1200-1400, so i'm pretty happy with it!

I paid $800 for my LX about 3 months ago, it was a hell of a deal. It has 153k on it right now, but it runs like a dream. I paid $2500 for my 323 about a year and a half ago, that was a rip and a half. Not that it's a bad car, just way way too much money. Neither have given me any problems yet *knocking on desk* aside from a dead battery.

I paid $1900 for my 91 DX w/ 130K in October 02. It seems a little high compared to some others but, she had great maintenance records and was in perfect shape with new tires, exhaust, and brakes.

I got a good deal on both of the Protege's I have bought. The first one was on January 19, 2000 (my 16th birthday) for $2,300 w/ 106,000 miles on it. It was a '93 DX in very good condition. I drove it to 155,000 and it never gave me any problems except for the AC. Then I bought my '93 LX for $2,900 w/ 85,000 miles last September. This was an even better deal because I feel like this is a much better car than the DX. This car is also in good condition.

I picked up my '94 LX a few months ago for $1300, but it needed about $600 for an ac comp, so $1900 initial outlay. This car was is otherwise great shape with 153K miles. We won't talk about the additional money I've spent since ....

fudge, I paid $6000 in August '99... 104k mi. It was from a Toyota dealer. Actually my parents bought it for me while I was out of town. When I drove it off the lot it barely responded, interestingly enough they gave me NGK blue wires, don't know what else they did but they fixed it.
I garaged it in 2000 and revived it in July 2002. I barely had an interest in cars back then but it's kind of grown now after seeing all of the cool things at Protegeclub. I don't really know crap about the actual maintenance of cars, but being on this site has taught me that it is not out of reach. I'm gonna take a car shop class at my community college

I (well, my parents paid $3200 for my 93 DX with 95k on it. It was in really good shape (even better now!!) And i'd like to state for the record that I pay for ALL performance, sound system, and aesthetic extras for the car, plus insurance - That's something! I'm 16, in High School, and work at Pizza Hut for god sakes!!
