Vibrating when I accelerate hard

I noticed these days that when I floor it, I feel a strong vibration as if im running over ripples in the road, but it doesn't do it when I drive normally. I doubt its the clutch or the transmission, it feels like its coming from the suspension or the wheels but how? I put it up on jack stands and everything looked normal, except the little leaking from the seals in the clutch housing. Do you think it needs gear oil? eh, I'm pooped.

yea try doing a tire swap from front to back and back to front, if your problem then changes to the rear its your tires, if not well leave the tires and hey you just rotated your tires

try alignment, and look for broken belts within your tire(buldges or humps on the outside)

This happened to my protege, passenger axle. I replaced it and everything is fine now.
Ay don't worry about the flooding.
Anyway, I just had the drivers side axle replaced, and they said the passenger side one had a clip or something that was broken (?) but it was leaking gear oil, and I'd have to keep an eye on it, but that was the only problem. I Think that MIGHT be the problem, but on the other hand, I might need alignment and to rotate my tires but I would have done the rotation already if the slap jack who owned the car before me hadn't waited so long to do it, leaving my current rear wheel tires nearly bald. There are no bulges in the tires, I checked everything thoroughly so I guess my conclusion is a worn constant velocity joint. More money for them aamco bastads...Thanks for the help dudes.

Ya, I never thought about the axles... My car does this too, not a harsh shaking, but when accelerating under load (the motor is "bogged" down) the CD's in my door pocket make a chattering noise because they are vibrating...and i know the axles are shot because they click pretty well accelerating around corners. I'll remember that when i change my axles to see if it goes away. I'd also assume that the motor mounts are soft and the engine has over 250, 000 km on it so it is a little worn itself.

Based on my experiences, the symptoms you describe can only be from a worn axle.

This is my assessement about all the typical symptoms you might have when driving:

Alignment is needed when car veers one way or the other like a ****, or the tires are wearing unevenly (maybe causing a droning noise in severe cases)

New tire(s) are needed when you have a horrible noise (wobbling) coming from one corner, cord is showing, or they are worn due to improper camber, toe, inflation, etc.

New axle is needed when you experience a vibration (especially notable from the steering wheel) when you accelerate, or brake hard, but goes away while you are cruising, and not accelerating. Most notable when you are cruising between 55-70mph. ALso, if the boot is torn and you start hearing a clicking sound while turning, the axle should be replaced.

If you hear a scraping, squealing, etc, for every rotation of the wheels, then your brakes aren't self-aligning properly, or are worn and in need of replacement. Also, uneven braking, sometimes resulting in veering to the left or right during hard braking is an indication of mis-aligned brakes.

Uhh..i'm missing other stuff here, i'm too lazy to type more crap.....hope you find the problem w/ ur car!
Well, the axles don't click when I make turns, the steering wheel doesnt vibrate, boots arent torn, but now that you mentioned it, I can hear the rear right drum brake making a pulsating scraping sound when I brake light-medium, but I took off the hub and inspected all the springs and everything, used brakleen and all that good stuff, but it still makes the noise, and maybe it needs alignment but I doubt that its whats making the "vibration factor". So I guess I have 2 problems here.

mine does the same thing.. i kinda assumed it was somethin to do wit my axles, but the thing is, it ONLY does it under hard accel, not when goin around corners, under power or not, not when in reverse, and its both sides, not just one. also it is fine at any highway speed, includin cruisin at 85-95. only does it under heavy accel. weird? normal?

I did a tire rotation trying to avoid taking it to get the axle done, which would be my last resort, and I noticed my hubcap was budged in and scraped. Why didnt i notice this before? but anyway, I rotated the tires, and the problem is still there, however, it's less intense. After driving for a while, say 5 minutes, and accelerating hard, the problem goes away. Now, it only happens when I go over a deep grade while im going fast, like when you go over one of those waves that make your stomach tickle. hmmm. {scratches head} i dunno!
